We are exploring the opportunity to purchase and protect the Ship Inn for future generations. To help us understand the level of support, we’re inviting people to register their interest in becoming shareholders if the project goes ahead.  We call this a pledge.  We have provided a form below for potential investors to complete.

Why are we asking for pledges?

A pledge is a non-binding expression of interest in buying shares in the company we set up to own the pub. This helps us to:

• Demonstrate community support to potential investors, lenders and grant funders.
• Assess how much community investment may be available.
• Develop a robust business plan.
• Decide whether the project is financially viable before launching a formal share offer.

There is no obligation to invest by completing this form.

How does a pledge work?

If you are interested in investing, please use the form below to tell us the amount you think you would be willing to invest if a formal community share offer is launched.

Your pledge is not a commitment and is not legally binding. It simply helps us understand the potential level of investment within our community.

When the business plan has been completed and all the necessary information is available, a formal share offer will be launched (subject to the project proceeding). At that point you will receive full details, including:

• The business plan.
• The risks and opportunities.
• The proposed governance arrangements.
• The share offer document.
• How to apply for shares.

You will then be free to decide whether or not to invest.
